Title: Adrenal gland pain?
Post by: rustyallen on March 03, 2014, 12:49:30 PM
I know that muscle pain is very common to people with anxiety because of the constant tension. But I get this pain which I would say is around the kidney area of my back that really hurts sometimes. I was just wondering could this be my adrenal glands?

Dear Rusty,

Yes, muscle pain has a large connection to the anxiety condition. This is because of resistance which many struggle with when first beginning a recovery plan. Part of this condition is based upon unproductive thought which leads to muscle tension and contractions. Many experience this tightness in their backs, neck, arms and legs. My suggestion would be to rule out all physical causes before assuming it is anxiety related. If you find no outstanding physical trigger for these sensations, it would be best to apply the process described in the program to help release stress related tension. It is doubtful that the pain you are experiencing is from your adrenal gland. If you are active in sports you may want to protect your kidneys.

Best wishes,
